Ed Butowsky: Congress Skipping Out On Economic Issues


With all the things going on in the world today, or more importantly the US economy, congress has decided its more important to hit the campaign road before the elections. If it was up to me, which its not, I would not leave until we had something in place temporarily or permanently that could help stimulate the economy. With poverty at an all time high 14.9% and rising, unemployment still very high, recession signs imminent you think I am in the mood to vote someone who has not done what should be done to office? (I leave that as a rhetorical question)

Congress Poised to Hit Campaign Trail Before Finishing Basic Budget Duties

Confirming a new budget director for President Obama may end up being a lot less controversial than actually passing a budget.

As lawmakers screened Jacob Lew, Obama’s pick to lead the Office of Management and Budget, on Thursday, they were on track to end the budget year without passing a single spending bill, and marred by campaign-season bickering over next year’s tax rates. 

On top of that, a new round of economic figures out Thursday underscored the challenges employers and the federal government face in trying to move the country out of recession quickly.
